MOUNTAIN INFORMATION
Breckenridge consists of 4 Peaks, 2,360 acres of terrain, 30 chairlifts and 3 terrain parks. Skiers and snowboarders of all abilities can find plenty of terrain that will suit them. All green and blue runs are groomed every day.
Peak 8 consists of 11 green runs, 7 blues, 3 blue-blacks, 7 black diamonds and 4 double black diamonds and is great for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. Peak 8 also has an expert terrain park with a full size half pipe where several competitions are held every year. The Breckenridge Gondola just opened for the 2006-2007 season and takes skiers and snowboarders from town to the base of Peak 8. From there you can meet ski school or go straight up the mountain. During the summer the base of Peak 8 is turned into a Fun Park with an alpine slide, putt putt golf, a maze, a climbing wall, a bungee-trampoline and more!
The top of Peak 8 has the T-Bar chairlift which accesses 8 black diamond runs and 18 double black diamonds. This chairlift is for more advanced skiers and snowboarders. Also at the top of Peak 8 is the Imperial Chairlift, which is the highest chairlift in North America. Imperial Riders get off the chair at 12,840 feet above sea level and can access expert terrain and double black diamonds, including the Lake Chutes with a 55° slope!
Peak 9 is another peak that is great for all skier and snowboarder levels. There are 13 greens, 11 blues, 2 blue-black runs, 3 black diamonds and 8 double black diamonds. There are also 2 terrain parks, one for beginners and one for intermediate park riders. Skiers and snowboarders can get onto Peak 9 from downtown Breckenridge at the Maggie or Beaver Run. Ski school meets right by the Cedars at Breckenridge or else at the 10 Mile Station Restaurant.
Peak 10 is a great mountain with long steep runs, probably not the best for beginners. It consists of 1 green, 3 blue-black runs, 6 black diamonds and 8 double black diamonds. The Burn is one of the more famous runs on Peak 10, it is filled with great trees and runs along almost the whole of the north side of the peak.
Peak 7 is perfect for the intermediate skier that loves cruising groomed blue runs. There are 8 blues and 2 black diamonds. The Independence Chair is a 6 person chair with a nice little warming hut at the top.
Whatever your skills or needs as a skier or snowboarder Breckenridge has something for everybody with 155 trails. Also, a multi-day Breckenridge ski pass is good at Arapahoe Basin and Keystone.
