Opening Day
Opening day is just around the corner on 11.11.11! Come join in for the free pancake breakfast and get first chair to start another landmark season! There is always a lot of fun happening during opening weekend some come out and be a part of it.
Winter Dew Tour
Some of the world's greatest winter athletes will be arriving in Breckenridge to compete in the first stage of the nationally televised Winter Dew Tour. Skiers and Snowboarders will compete in half-pipe and freeskiing competitions among many others. Festivities are December 15-18. Book soon to be sure you get to be a part of one of the biggest winter competitions in the US!
Ullr Fest
The Town of Breckenridge honors the Norse God of Snow: Ullr, every year in January with a week of games events and culminating in the world famous Ullr Parade. If you've never seen someone in gold briefs wearing a viking helmet riding down Main Street on a keg pulled by sled dogs, then you need to come out here January 8-14!
Lighting of Breckenridge
The lighting of Breckenridge will commence on December 3rd. Come and walk down Victorian Main Street singing carols and drinking hot cocoa with Santa. It's a beautiful experience that's fun for the whole family!
International Snow Sculture Competetion
One of the most prestigious snow sculpture competitions descends on Breckenridge January 24-February 5. Teams from all over the world compete with out any power tools on the most beautiful hand carved sculptures you can imagine.

Skiing

Snowboarding
Not only is Breckenridge a top destination for skiers, but snowboarders as well. Breckenridge was one of the first resorts in the country to allow snow boarders, now there is a super pipe and huge terrain park on Peak 8 and several other parks and pipes spread out around the mountain. Breck Ski and Ride School is one of the best and can help any rider of any level.
Snowmobiling
Snowmobiling is one of the most fun experiences you can have here during the winter without being high-impact. There are full day and half day trips available and no experience is necessary.
Snowshoeing
Alpine Sports has snow shoes available for those who love to hike and be outside during the winter. There are trails everywhere in and around Breckenridge.
Nordic Skiing
Breckenridge Nordic Center is located on Peak 8 below the ski area. Nordic skiing is a great work out and a lot of fun without the high costs of lift tickets. Alpine Sports offers nordic skiing equipment for rent as well.
Sleigh Rides
Downtown Breckenridge boasts a beautiful historic district from its bustling mining days. Horse drawn sleighs can take you up and around Main Street and the historic district. There are also dinner sleigh rides available that provides a picnic dinner in a scenic overlook spot.
Sledding
Carter Park in downtown Breckenridge has an incredible sledding hill that is open to everybody and free. Just grab a sled of any kind and slide down with the kids (it's fun for adults too!). And, now open is the new Frisco Adventure Park with its very own Tubing Hil! The new snow tubing area has individual lanes across the hill and a surface lift to bring you back up!
Dog Sledding
Dog Sledding is one of the most incredible experiences a person can enjoy. No matter experience levels, anyone can enjoy these lovable dogs and a thrilling ride through the mountains.
Shopping
Breckenridge's famous shops are all open during the winter time. There are designer clothing stores, art galleries, souvenir stores, chocolate shops, sock shops, and anything else you can imagine!
